The Art Gallery Committee is privileged to be the first gallery in New York to showcase the extraordinary fashion art of Audrey Schilt, former Creative Director, V.P. of Collection for Ralph Lauren, where she worked for 22 years.
After graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she got her introduction to the fashion design world working for Halston as a sketch artist just as he was beginning his ascent to fame. Thus began her 30 year career of sketching and designing for some of the most revered names in the fashion industry. She joined Ralph Lauren as a conceptual artist and eventually was named Creative Director, V.P. of Collection. She worked side by side with Lauren as he built his fashion empire, helping him to interpret and illustrate his creative ideas.
This unique show will include a large number of original framed working drawings, by Schilt, that are one-of-a-kind collectibles. There will also be some illustrative posters which will give guests a glimpse into the creative process and glamour of the industry.
